RELEASE THE KITTIES!
It seems like every year, one of my friends gets something handmade for Xmas. This year, Steven was the receiver of one. As a Dethklok fan, I had to do something fun, so why not.
It is “Dethklok home for wayward kitties” with the band below.
The logo was the hardest thing to figure out - I had to work off of the actual logo, and bring it down to as few pixels as possible. Overall, I’m so insanely proud of this, and it was so addicting to do!
That’s why I started (and just finished! Pix soon!) of the Doctor Who pattern I made (find it in a previous post) and am now thinking of what I could do next…

And, lastly, I combined the iPod cases & Kindle cases from Game of Thrones into one post, so I’m not spamming you too badly ;P

I love the iPod cases - they were a total whim to do, and I’m glad I did! (not to mention, its a good way to use up the extra leather scraps I have tons of!!) And, I just got a Kindle Touch, so I’m very, very much loving the cases myself - I kept a Doctor Who one for my own use ^^

As always, up on my Etsy store. One of each currently made, so if looking for holidays, better let me know ASAP, k?

Do you like them? Too much? Not enough? What else should I be making out of leather?

tampasteampunk:

A new exhibit is opening up at the Plant Museum in Tampa, Fla. in March 2012. Titled “Japan and the Victorians,” it will explore how Japan influenced culture in Europe and America and vice versa. The exhibit will feature pieces from the hotel collection, provate collectors and several museums.
There’s a lot of talk about the need to represent multiculturalism in steampunk. This is a great opportunity to get an accurate historical viewpoint to create personas and outfits sensitive to and reflective of Japanese culture in the Victorian era.

Thanks to a friend (actually, two) suggesting it, I spent all day not photographing the journals I made last week, like I had planned - instead, I spent the day working on the house sigils from “Game of Thrones”…
So far, I have House Targaryen, House Stark, House Baratheon, and House Lannister.
I think I might be going overboard, but dammit, I’m really liking this!

The Seal of Rassilon.
This is going to wind up being on leather journals shortly, along with a few others. I’ll probably post the .ai or .svg file on dART eventually, too, to save others the pain of having to trace this bugger off.
After doing these, however, I have to say that Gallifreyan writing is a total pain in my ass. I hate circles now…
